James N. “Jim” Wilt, 80, of Apache Junction, Ariz., formerly of Indian Lake, passed away Thursday, April 24, 2014.
Jim was born in Bellefontaine to the late Rolla N. Wilt and Clarabelle Allmon Payer. He also was preceded in death by two brothers, Michael Payer and Thomas E. “Tiny” Wilt.
He is survived by longtime companion, Katherine Maye “Katie” Lee Evilsizor; three children, Connie S. Wilt of Winston-Salem, N.C., James M. (Amy) Wilt of Belle Center and Patrick Evilsizor of Huntsville; three grandchildren, Leslie M. Dunson of Cape Coral, Fla., Cole M. Wilt of Belle Center and Bree Ann (Derrick) Fredritz of Cary; two great-grandchildren, Logan and Rhett Fredritz; a sister, Linda K. (Gary) Peck of Columbus; and a brother, Ronald E. (Deborah) Landis of Bellefontaine.
Jim retired from Rockwell International in Kenton in 1995. He was a life member of FOE Aerie 2166 and BPOE 132, both in Bellefontaine, and Moose Lodge 428 in Kenton.
During his younger years, he was an avid bowler and won many awards and trophies. He enjoyed golfing and belonged to many leagues over the years.
Gene Marine conducts a funeral at 1 p.m. Saturday at Shoffstall Funeral Home, Lakeview, with visitation from two hours prior. Burial is in Huntsville Cemetery.
