Deputies of the Logan County Sheriff’s Office responded to a report of a two-vehicle injury crash about 11:30 a.m. Friday on County Road 18 and Township Road 200.
Cathy J. Shields, 49, of Bellefontaine, reportedly was operating a westbound car on T.R. 200 when she stopped at the stop sign and then proceeded into the intersection. Her vehicle was struck by a southbound sport utility vehicle operated by Marta T. Cline, 56, of Bellefontaine.
The drivers were transported by Robinaugh EMS and a private vehicle to Mary Rutan Hospital for non-incapacitating injuries.
Passengers in the Cline vehicle, Mary F. Turner, 80, and Charles G. Turner, 82, both of Bellefontaine, and a passenger in the Shields car, Hazel K. Smith, 73, of Bellefontaine, were transported by Macochee EMS and Bellefontaine EMS to Mary Rutan Hospital for minor injuries. All occupants were wearing their seat belts.
Damage was heavy to both vehicles. Ms. Shields was cited for failure to yield.
