DAYTON, Ohio (AP) — A 10-year-old Ohio boy has lost his eye in a BB gun accident.
His grandmother, Barbara Bennett of Harrison Township near Dayton, tells the Dayton Daily News (bit.ly/1fkVQOl) the boy was playing with a friend Sunday when the incident occurred.
Dayton police and medics responded to the Northland Village Apartments in the 1400 block of Gant Drive around 12:15 p.m.
Bennett said her grandson and an 11-year-old friend were shooting at bottles with a BB gun when one of the pellets ricocheted and struck him in the left eye.
The boy, whose name was not reported, was recovering after surgery Sunday at Miami Valley Hospital. Police say they plan no charges.
