Troopers from the Marysville Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol report Quinten Turner, 22, of East Liberty, was coming into Pickrelltown from westbound County Road 29 when he failed to yield at the County Road 28 intersection, traveled through the Monroe Township Veteran’s Memorial and struck another vehicle operated by Robin Mitchell, 58, of Bellefontaine.
The impact of the collision caused Mr. Turner to be ejected from his vehicle. He was transported by a CareFlight helicopter to the OSU Medical Center in Columbus and reportedly was in critical condition late Sunday.
Ms. Mitchell was not injured. Both vehicles had to be towed from the scene.
The veteran’s memorial in Monroe Township was also destroyed. A bystander reportedly extinguished a fire that started in Mr. Turner’s vehicle after the crash.
Alcohol and/or drugs are suspected. Mr. Turner has been cited for failure to control, and troopers are still investigating.
West Liberty Fire and EMS and deputies from the Logan County Sheriff's Office also responded.
