Several Calvary Christian High School students recently attended the Youth in Government program at the Ohio Statehouse in Columbus.
Participants included Makayla Hartley, Nathalie Thompson, Amanda Koons, Mallory Leach, Maddie McGillis, Peter Printz and Noah Taylor. Ryan Hyde, social studies teacher, accompanied the students.
This program is sponsored by the West Virginia Youth Leadership Association and offers students the opportunity to see first-hand how state government officials represent their constituents. The students served in different capacities, such as chaplain, senator, representative, president of the senate and lobbyist.
