Kenton grabs 4-1 win over Bellefontaine netters

Tennis

Kenton’s boys tennis team downed visiting Bellefontaine 4-1 Wednesday in a non-league meeting.

The loss drops the Chieftains to 0-8 on the season.

Bellefontaine’s second doubles team of Min Lin and Dean Smith grabbed their second victory of the week after beating Kenton’s Avery Collins and Brandon Feltner 6-3, 6-0.

“This is their second win in the last three days,” said BHS head coach James Howell. “Min and Dean have been working well together. They communicate well and make smart plays and it is starting to pay off in the form of wins.

“Also playing well tonight was sophomore Derek Markley. Derek has been hitting the ball very well, especially at the net. Derek reacts quickly and can place the ball well.”
