Joydale Shipp, 83, of Roundhead, passed away at 11:43 a.m. Tuesday, April 22, 2014, at the Hardin Hills Health Center, Kenton.
She was born May 12, 1930, a daughter of the late Coda and Flossie Neal Turner.
On Nov. 9, 1962, she married Gary Neil Shipp and he passed away Jan. 8, 2012. She was preceded in death by a brother, Myron “Jack” Turner, who passed away Oct. 22, 2006.
She is survived by a son, Robert Shipp of Lima; daughters, Julie (Dean) Dearth of Belle Center and Paula Lepo (fiancé Greg McKee) of Columbus; grandchildren, Chad Shipp, Chris (Tina) Lowry, Anna (fiancé Dave Armour) Lowry, Luke (Janeen) Shipp, Aaron (Anna) Daniels and Libby Shipp; a stepgrandson, Joshua Dearth; five great-grandchildren; one great-stepgrandchild; brothers, Norman (Patty) Turner of Kenton and Melvin (Betty) Turner of Kenton; and sister-in-law, Roberta Turner of Kenton.
A graduate of Kenton Senior High School, Joydale worked for the Upper Scioto Valley Schools as a teacher’s aide and then retired as a bank teller working at Indian Lake.
Joydale was a member of the Roundhead United Methodist Church and the Homemakers Club.
Pastor Dan Holbrook officiates a memorial service at 11 a.m. Saturday at the Roundhead United Methodist Church, where visitation is one hour prior.
Memorials may be made to Hardin County Hospice.
