Med take back day is Saturday

drug take back day

Mary Rutan Hospital is partnering with the Bellefontaine and Russells Point police departments for another Medication Take Back Day from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday at Mary Rutan Hospital and the Indian Joint Fire District, 320 State Route 708, Russells Point.

The event is free, anonymous and open to the public. Residents can take expired, unused or unwanted medications to be disposed of properly.

Individuals do not have to wait for the annual Medication Take Back Day to dispose of medications. Mary Rutan Foundation and the Logan County Sheriff’s Office have partnered to place a drop box in the lobby of the sheriff’s office and is available to residents to drop off their unused and unwanted medications 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

Nearly 994 pounds of pills and thousands of patches have been collected since the first Medication Take Back Day was hosted in the fall of 2010.
