Indian Lake tabs Tucci, Mefford to fill varsity coaching openings

Indian Lake’s board of education filled two vacant varsity coaching spots this week with the hiring of Nick Tucci and Missy Mefford.

Tucci replaces Tim McMahon as head girls basketball coach, while Mefford is the school’s new volleyball coach. She takes the spot of Blythe Moorhouse, who stepped down after leading the program for four seasons.

A teacher at Indian Lake for 13 years, Tucci served as Indian Lake’s eighth-grade boys basketball coach for five seasons. He also coached three years of seventh-grade boys basketball and was a junior varsity boys coach for one season.

In addition, he has coached junior high football at Indian Lake for eight seasons and was a varsity baseball assistant for one year.

“I feel I bring enthusiasm, energy and a fresh set of ideas to the girls basketball program,” said Tucci. “I have a vision for success of the program, and along with the help from my staff we will implement it.”
