Tippecanoe’s boys tennis team proved to be too much for visiting Bellefontaine on Thursday as the Red Devils came away with a 5-0 victory in Central Buckeye Conference action.
In first singles, the Chiefs’ Tyler Frantz lost to Mike Keller 6-2, 6-0, Bellefontaine’s Adam Verbsky lost to Jacob Belcher 6-0, 6-0 at second singles. At third singles, Isaiah Brady lost to Tippecanoe’s Joe Keller 6-0, 6-0.
Bellefontaine’s first doubles team of Max Wilcoxon and Mason Bailey fell to Phillip Bullard and Michael Gross 6-1, 6-1. The Chiefs’ second doubles team of Min Lin and Dean Smith was defeated by Eric Staley and Joey Fura 6-0, 6-0.
In junior varsity action, Bellefontaine’s Marshall Verbsky lost to Calvin Kramer 8-1 in singles play.
The BHS reserve doubles team of Michael Coakley and Derek Markley fell to Jacob Belcher and Calvin Kramer 8-0, while the Chiefs’ Josh Kruetzer and Alex German lost to Eric Staley and Phillip Bullard 8-0.
Bellefontaine hosts Stebbins in another CBC meeting on Monday.
