Host Indian Lake grabbed a big early lead and never looked back Tuesday in a 65- 42 win over visiting Waynesfield-Goshen in nonleague boys basketball action. The Lakers improve to 9-9 on the season, while the Tigers fall to 4-14. Indian Lake set the tone early on as it sprinted to a 24-11 lead after one quarter. The Lakers led 33-19 at halftime and continued to increase their lead in the second half. “It was really important for us to get off to a good start because we stress playing at a high intensity level,” said Indian Lake head coach Chad Mossing. “By starting strong like that I think we set the tone not only for this game, but also for where we want to get the rest of the season.” Stacy Jones led the Lakers with 17 points, while Andy Fout scored 15 points. Ryan Jacobs and Adam Reichert each had eight points and Justin Castle added seven points. “We were really working on team concepts,” said Mossing. “I felt we played really well as a team.” Taylor Miller led W-Goshen with 17 points. In the reserve game, Indian Lake won 37-34. The Lakers are back in action Friday at home against Greenon.
