Both Benjamin Logan and Stebbins’ boys basketball teams were looking for their first win of the season Thursday. It was the host Indians who were able to do the celebrating afterward. Stebbins used a second-half surge to earn a 51-43 victory in Central Buckeye Conference action. The Indians are now 1-8 overall and 1-6 in the CBC. The Raiders fall to 0-10, 0-8. The two squads played to a 23-23 tie at halftime. Stebbins moved in front in the third quarter, outscoring the Raiders 13-8 to take a 36- 31 lead. The Indians then held on in the final stanza to get the win. Leading the Raiders was Jeremiah Kerns with 19 points and Matt McKirahan with 11 points. Matt Hillery chipped in with six points. Stebbins won the junior varsity game 51-29. Matt Cira scored eight points for the Raiders. The Indians also won the freshman game 57-36, with Dylan McGarry scoring 12 points to lead Ben Logan. Ben Logan hosts Urbana on Saturday in another CBC contest.
