Waynesfield-Goshen was no match for Indian Lake on Tuesday in a girls non-league basketball game.

The visiting Lakers built a 37-7 halftime lead and went on to record a 60-28 victory.

Indian Lake improves to 8- 3 on the season, while the Tigers fall to 7-5.

“We were able to create some scoring opportunities with our full-court defense in the first half,” said Indian Lake head coach Mike Pequignot. “We forced quite a few turnovers and that led to some baskets on the other end.”

Indian Lake led 13-5 after one quarter and then outscored the Tigers 24-2 in the second quarter to lead by 30 points at halftime.

The Lakers forced WGoshen into 32 turnovers on the night.

Cori Blackburn led Indian Lake with 18 points, five steals and three rebounds. Katelyn Stannard had 13 points and four steals, Aubrey Arledge contributed 11 points and Ashley Oakley had seven points to aid the win.

“The balanced scoring has been a big bonus for us all season,” said Pequignot. “We have several girls that can step up on any given night. It was great to have three girls in double figures.”

Kelsey Williams had seven points to lead Waynesfield-Goshen.

There was no reserve game.

Indian Lake is back in action Friday with a Central Buckeye Conference game at Graham.
