Officers investigate string of thefts overnight Monday

Officers of the Bellefontaine Police Department report several cars were broken into and another was stolen overnight Monday.

Pahl Ritter, 21, of 620 N. Detroit St., reported to officers at 5:52 a.m. Tuesday that the face plate from his car stereo and several dollars in loose change had been stolen from his vehicle.

In a separate report a short time later, Jakob Horn, 18, of 475 W. Center St., West Mansfield, told officers he’d been at Mr. Ritter’s residence overnight Monday and that his car had also been victimized. Mr. Horn reports the face plate from his stereo had been stolen, along with several compact discs.

• Sarah Wolfe, 23, of 200 Spring Ave., told officers in a 6:21 a.m. report Tuesday that her 1998 silver Honda Civic had been stolen from her residence sometime before 5:30 a.m. The vehicle is silver in color. Its license plate is FAY-7535.

• Ryan Shough II, 18, of 628 N. Detroit St., reported his car stereo, GPS unit, car speakers and wallet had been stolen from his vehicle overnight Monday. His wallet was located in a nearby alley, but $500 was missing.
