Roger S. Horsley, 66, of West Liberty, went to be with the Lord and his beloved dog Samantha at 2:34 a.m. Friday, Feb. 8, 2013, at his home.
He was born in Jackson County on March 8, 1946, to the late Shirley and Ruth Salyers Horsley. Two brothers, Kenneth and Roland Horsley, also preceded him in death.
On June 17, 1966, he married the former Diana Van Hoose and she survives, along with a son, Randy (Arlene) Horsley of West Liberty; a grandson, Greyson Horsley; four sisters, Betty (Bob) Kunkle, Darlene (Carl) Jones and Judy (Jim) Wayman, all of Urbana, and Ellen Blair of West Liberty; two brothers, Ronnie (Lois) Horsley of Urbana and Jerry Horsley of Indian Lake; and 37 nieces and nephews.
Roger worked as a machinist for 30 years at the former Kelsey-Hayes in Springfield. He had a passion for muscle cars, attending car shows and following NASCAR.
Pastor Kenny Cordell officiates a funeral at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the Eichholtz-Daring & Sanford Funeral Home, West Liberty, where visitation is from 4 to 7 p.m. Monday. Burial is in Fairview Cemetery, West Liberty.
