One day after announcing a three-day production schedule for its North American auto production plants, Honda reported sales in the U.S. were up for April based on a daily selling rate.
Tuesday, American Honda Motor Co. Inc. posted April sales of 124,799, an increase of 5.7 percent based compared to April 2010 results of 113,697.
American Honda year-to-date sales of 432,777 represent an increase of 14.6 percent compared to last year.
While demand for the automaker’s products is strong, the automaker had to cut production in half until at least July 1 because of parts and material shortages from the March 11 earthquake and tsunami in Japan.
