Indian Lake’s boys basketball team grabbed its first win of the season in a big way Tuesday as the Lakers routed visiting Northwestern 68-36 in Central Buckeye Conference Mad River division action.
The Lakers are now 1-5 on the season and 1-1 in the CBC Mad River division. The Warriors tumble to 0-6, 0-3.
“We are very excited to get our first win and do it at home,” said Indian Lake head coach David Starr. “The boys have worked extremely hard and took some lumps early in the season. It was just great they could show what they can do on the court.”
Indian Lake’s win was sparked by strong shooting from the perimeter. The Lakers drilled nine three-pointers on Tuesday.
“We were shooting confident from the three-point line,” said Starr. “We shot well last week and I think that carried over into this game.”
