D. Ruth Hesser, 93, of Belle Center, passed away at 5:30 a.m. on Friday, Nov. 9, 2012, at Green Hills Retirement Community, West Liberty.
She was born in Clyde on Oct. 7, 1919, to the late John and Lillian Strohl Beatty.
On June 24, 1939, she married Charles E. Hesser in Belle Center and he preceded her in death on Oct. 12, 1977. She also was preceded in death by sons, Charles Richard Hesser and Gary Eugene Hesser; sisters, Lucille Fulton, Esther Kuaille and Jessie Baum; brothers, John Beatty, Edward Beatty and Carl Beatty.
She is survived by a son, Phil (Becky) Hesser of Belle Center; grandchildren, Jenny (Tim Newland) Hesser of Belle Center, Billie (Grant) Mizek of Roundhead, Chuck (Jenni) Hesser of Belle Center, Shawn Hesser of Belle Center, Holly (John) Baughman of East Liberty and Melissa (Justin Van Buskirk) Hesser of Bellefontaine; great-grandchildren, Zach, Lexi, Ethan, Gavin, Diesel, Maelee and Carter; brother, Donald (Katy) Beatty of Marion; daughter-in-law, Donna Hesser of Belle Center; sister-in-law, Louise Hesser of Sylvania; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She had worked at Crawford’s Department Store in Belle Center and was a member of Church of Christ in Belle Center.
She loved to sew, cook, crochet, bake and read. She also loved to garden and she always had beautiful flower beds.
She also loved feeding and watching the birds and was very devoted to her family.
Pastor Dean Wasson officiates a funeral at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the Eichholtz Funeral Home, Belle Center, where visitation is from 2 to 6 p.m. Monday. Burial is in Fairview Cemetery, Belle Center.
