Logan County native Chloe Manor has been tapped to serve as the farmers’ market manager. She began her work over the winter, developing ideas to expand the market’s reach.
The market begins its 15th season May 7 in the parking lot across from the Bellefontaine Post Office at the corner of Detroit Street and Chillicothe Avenue.
Jan Dawson, founder of the market, handled much of the day-to-day activities in previous years, but as the farmers’ market has grown, so, too, has the need to bring in a manager to handle daily chores.
“We really saw a need to bring in a part-time manager that could handle the logistics of making the market go,” Mrs. Dawson said during Wednesday’s meeting. “If she has any questions or problems she’ll call me, but if (vendors) have any questions or problems (they) should contact Chloe.”
Ms. Manor outlined the work she’s already done preparing for the season.
“I spent much of my time thus far applying for grants and filling out paperwork for the IRS,” she said.
