Ben Logan boys golf team looking forward to its return trip to Weatherwax

It always helps to think ahead. Just ask the Benjamin Logan boys golf team.

Anticipating that they would make a run at a district berth this season, the Raiders scheduled a trip to the Dick Hadley Memorial Tournament two weeks ago at Weatherwax Golf Course in Middletown. Weatherwax is the same course the district tournament is played on.

The Raiders placed fourth at last week’s sectional tournament to earn a spot in this week’s district tourney. The squad is hoping its previous experience at Weatherwax pays off Thursday.

“Returning to Weatherwax will make it easier for the guys to think ahead,” said Ben Logan boys golf coach Tim Smith. “Positioning of the ball is critical on that course. Familiarity will help. That is the reason we gave up a Saturday to play there a couple of weeks ago. The guys all wanted to play the course again.”
