YOUNGSTOWN AP) — Two elected officials, a prominent developer and four other people have been indicted in a corruption investigation in northeast Ohio. A grand jury in Youngstown returned the 73-count racketeering and bribery indictment Thursday. The defendants include Mahoning County Commissioner John McNally IV, county Auditor Michael Sciortino, developer Anthony Cafaro Sr. and three Cafaro companies. They are charged with conspiring to block a deal to move county offices from a Cafaro-owned building to a former Youngstown hospital. The elected officials, Cafaro and the Cafaro Co. didn't immediately respond to requests left at their offices. |
