Officer Paul Lewis puts Wyatt Kindle, 4, of Lakeview, through the paces of the agility course Saturday during the annual Russells Point Police Department’s annual bike and scooter safety rodeo. The department hosts the second annual Safety Town program June 18-22 at the municipal building, 433 State Route 708. Session 1 runs daily from 9 to 11 a.m. and session 2 is from 1 to 3 p.m., and they include pedestrian, traffic, and fire safety, good and bad touch, stranger danger and the hazards of drugs among other things. Topics also include gun safety, boating, water and park safety, with Ohio Department of Natural Resources teaching proper fishing techniques. Each participant leaves with a new fishing pole. The classes are available to all Indian Lake students starting kindergarten this fall and older. Register at the police department at the village office by June 1. (EXAMINER PHOTO | RICK PITTS)
