Kenton unable to slow down Indian Lake

Host Indian Lake quickly took care of Kenton on Monday as the Lakers defeated the visitors 25-10, 25-21, 25-21 in a non-league volleyball match.

The Lakers, ranked 16th in this week’s Division II state poll, improve to 16-2 on the season.

Devin Grandi tallied six aces on 16-17 serving, 11 kills and 19 digs to pace the Laker attack. Brianna Lump had five kills and Sara Tevis chalked up three aces, eight kills and 13 digs.

Also for the Lakers, Lauren Brademeyer had seven digs, Whitney Hollon had three kills, Brooke Walton recorded 12 assists, Kirsten Brademeyer had 13 assists and five digs, Heather Allen was 9-10 on serves received and had 11 digs, Emily Watkins had three kills on 16-16 hitting and had four blocks and Casey Craft tallied 10 digs.

In the reserve match, Indian Lake won 25-16, 25-17. Kylie Rogers was 7-7 serving, Morgan Boswell had nine digs and Kayla Thieman was 8-8 serving with four aces and three kills to lead the Lakers.

Indian Lake is back in action tonight at home against Bellefontaine.

Tigers sting Cedarville

Visiting West Liberty-Salem cruised past Cedarville 25-10, 25-16, 25-18 in an Ohio Heritage Conference volleyball match Monday.

The win improves the Tigers to 15-3 overall and 10-1 in the OHC.

Tessa Bailey had 15 assists, seven points and two aces, while Paige Parker recorded 14 kills, six digs and seven points to spark the Tigers.

Also contributing to the WL-Salem win were Becka Peterson (nine kills, two points, five digs), Kayla Peterson (three kills, 15 assists, nine points, five aces, two blocks) and Danielle King (eight points, four aces, five digs).

In the reserve match, the Tigers won 25-14, 25-17. Tessa Frye had 10 kills, nine points and five aces, Jayde Sheeley had five points and Kaiti Burkhammer had nine assists to lead WL-Salem.

The Tigers return to action Thursday at home against Northeastern.

Trojans trip up Triad

Host Southeastern defeated Triad 25-27, 25-17, 25-23, 25-17 in an Ohio Heritage Conference volleyball match Monday.

The Cardinals fall to 10-8 overall and 7-4 in the OHC.

Britney Graves had 44 assists and nine digs, Sammy Nawman had 15 kills and 10 digs and Lauren Brown tallied 14 kills and six digs to lead Triad.

The Cardinals host Mechanicsburg on Thursday.
