About 20 hydrocodone pills and marijuana were discovered during an OVI traffic stop.
Just before 2 a.m. today officers of the Washington Tonwship Police Department stopped a minivan for traveling 71 mph in a 55 mph zone.
Officers noticed the driver, Randolph Beaty, 54, of Amboy, Ind., appeared to be impaired and administered a field sobriety test. The driver was subsequently placed under arrest for operating a vehicle under the influence of alcohol or drugs
A search of the vehicle yielded 20 hydrocodone pills, marijuana and open containers of alcoholic beverages.
A passenger, Jeffery Davis, 53, Ft. Wayne, Ind., was also taken into custody and the two were transported to the Logan County Jail.
Beaty is being charged with felony possession of a controlled substance, OVI, possession of marijuana, open container and speed. Davis was charged with felony possession of a controlled substance, possession of marijuana and open container.
