Darlene R. King, 62, of Lakeview, passed away Monday afternoon, Oct. 11, 2010, at Riverside Methodist Hospital, Columbus.
She was born in Dayton on Jan. 4, 1948, to the late Ray and Myrtle Conwell Holderman. She also was preceded in death by a brother, Dennis Holderman; and close friend, Dorothy.
She is survived by a daughter, Mickey (Mark) Shoffner of Lewistown; two sons, Rich (Shauna) Szima of Lakeview and Joe (Amber) King of DeGraff; nine grandchildren, Danielle, Desireé, Kandi, Matt, Chase, Cody, Alexa, Jacob and Georgia; nine great-grandchildren, Ethan, Jaylynn, Joelle, Madison, Izick, Kaylin, Audrey, Braydon and Levi; and close friends and coworkers, Cathy and Vickie.
A graduate of Fairview High School in Dayton, she was a member of the United Brethren Church. She worked at Heartland of Indian Lake and Bellefontaine for 26 years.
She loved her pets, collected bells and porcelain dolls. Her kids and grandkids were always most important to her.
Brother Donnie Day conducts a funeral at 2 p.m. Saturday at Shoffstall Funeral Home, Lakeview, where visitation is from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday. Burial is in Huntsville Cemetery.
