With Urban Meyer taking over this fall, many Ohio State fans dreamed of an offense piling up points by the minute and the defense being like a stone wall.
Through four games, that has not exactly been the case.
The offense has certainly been an improvement from last year when it was one of the worst units statistically in college football. But the Buckeyes have been bothered by lapses at times and have yet to resemble to become the high-flying attack that was envisioned when Meyer brought his spread to Columbus.
The defensive side has been a disappointment to say the least. Ohio State ranks 71st in total defense. The philosophy seems to be “bend but don’t break,” but that has not set well with fans used to the stout defenses Ohio State has fielded in the past.
