BUCKEYE BUZZ: Hinton and Coombs bring energy to OSU coaching staff

Kerry Coombs and Tim Hinton would make great pitch men for an energy drink.

Coombs and Hinton, first-year members of the Ohio State coaching staff, are without a doubt the two most entertaining and enjoyable coaches on the staff to watch speak. Both assistants possess high-octane personalities.

During Urban Meyer’s weekly press conference this week, Coombs elicited laughter from the gathered media when talking about his nickname for the team’s kick coverage unit. Coombs said he calls the group of young, aggressive players piranhas. When asked why, he shouted “because they are this tall” as he held his hand below his chin. They are not big enough to be sharks ... they are midgets.”
