MSU game a bonding moment for OSU

COLUMBUS — When Urban Meyer took over the Ohio State football program late last year, he found a group of players that were not on the same page following an uncharacteristic 6-7 season.

“This has been a team that’s been pushed around for a while,” said Meyer on Monday during his weekly press conference. “There were a lot of things that have happened. A lot of things I’m probably not even aware of, but I could tell that it wasn’t a close team. It was a team with a lot of excuses.”
Meyer has changed his outlook after a gritty 17-16 win in hostile territory at Michigan State on Saturday. The Buckeyes overcame three turnovers to improve their season record to 5-0.
“It was really interesting to watch (the team come together),” he said. “We pushed the envelope as a coaching staff and they bought in.”
As 12th-ranked Ohio State embarks on a week of preparation for Saturday night’s home game against 21st-ranked Nebraska (8 p.m., ABC), there seems to be a greater sense of unity among the Buckeye players.
